Our clients have been very excited to find out that because of our
concern for the environment we are building “Green” cabinetry.  We
have found that many clients have become aware of the toxins in some
products, especially those imported from outside the United States.
Coldicott Woodworks is now using zero formaldehyde
Purebond
plywoods made by Columbia Forest Products.  The lumber we use is
certified through a non-profit organization devoted to responsible
management of the world’s forests.  They set high standards that
ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially
beneficial, and economically viable way.  We are also using zero
formaldehyde, low-VOC,  water-based finishes whenever possible.  We
are trying to use Fuhr Industries products whenever possible or
requested by our clients.   Fuhr Industries is recommended to provide
the finish for the
US Green Building Council's  LEED program and
the
Green Seal for use in environmentally friendly products.  We are
doing continual research on new “Green” products that we can
incorporate into our cabinetry.

As an incentive to our employees we have offered an end of year
bonus if they ride their bikes or use public transit to travel to/from
work.  Steve, the owner, also organizes a Friday night ride almost
every week.

Our strategy to build greener cabinetry is offered at no additional cost
to our clients.
